After very little deliberation it was decided that we had to check out the Music BC Party at the Media Club once we found out that 1) It’s free admission and 2) Free drinks from Sleeman’s and Jagermeister! Hell, at that price even The Remedials can afford that! After arriving on the scene dressed to the 9’s so security wouldn’t throw us out. Gabe from The Remedials and his partner in crime Scott from The Weedies infiltrated The Media Club with the agenda of pimping the Vancouver Band Alliance. After a few Honey Brown’s and even more shots of Jag, Gabe and Scott worked the crowd by handing out CDs with VBA bands and handbills of the next VBA show. After hanging out with a lot of music industry people and LTG a new member to the VBA, it was time for trivia and drawing of prizes! Neither Gabe or Scott entered in the draw for studio time or a video press kit since they were both too loaded to do so, but Gabe did win a stack of CDs (too bad none of them were good) when he correctly answered the trivia question: “Which band contains members from The Hanson Brothers?” and to which the correct answer is of course “No Means No”. Gabe got props from the MC when he said: “Cool, someone who know his punk rock!” Ya better believe it Bub! On the way out we ran into to people who kept hearing about the Band Alliance while at the bash, did we accomplish what we set out to do? I think so; our work here was finished.
