Gabe of The Remedials pulled another two shows in one night again. Having done this on more than a few occasions like The Dropkick Murphys at the C.C.C. and The Hanson Brothers at The Cobalt, The Weedies at B.C.I.T. (Gabe of The Remedials and Kwin of Denderah were only on the school property for about five minutes before they had two security guards hassle them) and Willy B. Sober at The Brickyard (RIP) and VBA Show #1 at The Buffalo Club and Deerhoof at Dicks!
the POGs were supposed to be on at 9pm but when Gabe showed up at 9:15 to Remedial represent they were just hanging around drinking beer and playing pool. * Please note never play pool with Juice from the POGs for money you will lose everytime! * While hanging with the POGs they mentioned they are once again playing as a three-piece and that they have parted ways with their bass player. When asked "Why?" the POGs said that he doesn't show up to jam (the dude lives like a block away from where they jam) and he doesn't call, hey this kinda sounds like a certain bass player The Remedials know! Since Gabe had to book to the Waldorf Hotel when asked how long their set was gonna be the POGs responded with nine songs with no breaks in about twenty minutes! Perfect! They opened up with "Johnny" and instantly got the whole bar up on their feet to check em' out! While Gabe was at the bar the POGs mentioned this was their last song that is a cover and if anyone knows the lyrics to jump on the mike! So after quickly paying for his beer dashed to the nearest mike and with bottle in hand and mike stand in the other blasted thru "The Crusher" with the POGs! After the show Gabe hung out with the POGs and the guys in Laying Waste a new band from Victoria who will try and get The Remedials over to play some shows on the island. Rumour has it The Remedials may return to Endoplasmic for another show with the POGs (On Kevin's B-Day) and Denderah! If these rumours turn out to be true this show will be off the hook!
Upon entering The Waldorf Hotel, which was getting totally packed for Zolar X there were plenty of people in other local bands (Cadeaux, Vancouger, Riff Randalls and The Evaporators) who showed up. Even before making a B-Line for the bar Gabe of The Remedials ran into Buddy ROCK'N of ROCK'N and the rest of the gang. On his way to the bar Gabe ran into Lionel of The Remedials, which was soon to be problematic, as both never had an empty glass the whole night. The Remedials missed the Robosexuals who we met at The Hive on the tour of the place with Jesse Gander. The next band was Nim Vind who played a stellar show! Lionel of The Remedials chatted with Nardwuar "The Human Serviette" and scored him a Remedials CD. Checking out the stage before the show there's two huge space age speakers on either side of the stage and an ultra cool double kick drum set and you just know this show would be outta this world! Just before Zolar X took the stage the hype man (who's the same guy who introduces at Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted) announced the return of Zolar X from Plutonia and once Ygarr Ygarrist, Jett Starsystems and Eon Flash stepped on the stage the crowd went outta control! Gabe and Lionel of The Remedials with Buddy ROCK'N were front and center the whole night singing along to Rocket Roll, Space Age Love and Jet Star 19! The E.B.E.'s known as Zolar X were outfitted in their trademark space suits and bopped around like there was no gravity, all while Ygarr shredded his fret lit guitar like no one else can at least on this planet! The Remedials could go on and on about this show but will save it for their grand kids! Zolar X was unable to leave the stage cuz Buddy ROCK'N and The Remedials kept screaming out for them to play just one more song over and over again! During the hypnotizing show Eon Flash's drumstick flew into the crowd and after a mad scramble between Buddy ROCK'N and Lionel of The Remedials, Buddy emerged with the stick! After the show The Remedials shook hands (we're never washing our hands again) and thanked everyone in Zolar X for playing the best show we've ever seen only KISS and GWAR come close. Gabe of The Remedials ran into Buddy ROCK'N after the show were he mentioned he grabbed the stick outta Lionel's hand and said he was gonna give it to him to which Gabe was like "No way ya gotta keep it!". After picking up a shirt and an autographed photo The Remedials were good to go! Everyone The Remedials and ROCK'N invited to the show couldn't say enough great things about the legendary glam rockers known as Zolar X! Thanks for returning to Earth and The Remedials and ROCK'N can't wait for your next visit!
